A Quick Introduction

Welcome to “A Year In Japan”!

With approximately 2 months to go until I arrive in Japan, I thought this would be the perfect time to start this blog. This has been something I have wanted to do ever since finding out that I was accepted into the JET Programme to work as an ALT (Assistant Language Teacher) in Japan. During the months leading up to the application phase of the programme last year, I found many helpful resources, hints, tips and other general information that other JET participants had posted on their own blogs about the programme and life in Japan.

With that said, I hope that perhaps one day my blog can be just as helpful to potential JET applicants… or at least a good source of reading material and entertainment.

I plan to fill this blog with everything and anything related to my experiences of living and working in Japan, the JET Programme, and anything else that will hopefully be worth the read. So enjoy!
